Radikal Bikers (Version 2.02)

Arcade 1998 Gaelco Driving Race (chase view) Bike
A game set in a Mediterranean environment in which, for the first time, players have the chance to show off their motor-cycle skills in a typically Italian urban setting. The game is a competition between two pizza delivery couriers in a race to see who can deliver their pizza first. The urban circuit allows interaction with all kinds of elements: cars, vans, windows, fences, people, etc. To help you complete your mission, you can collect icons giving you more speed, power or time. Hidden shortcuts help you gain valuable seconds.

You must choose from four pizza couriers each with his or her own particular abilities. There are three game levels: Margherita (easy), Capricciosa (medium) & Diavolo (difficult). There are four different races at each level which allow you to show the other biker who has the most skill, daring and ability.

- 0.118u6: Aaron Giles fixed Radikal Bikers crash.
- 10th September 2006: Mr. Do - Added instruction card for Radikal Bikers, thanks to contribution by Stephen Herman.
- 0.105u3: Changed region user4/5 to gfx1/2.
- 1st September 2004: Aaron Giles - If you think Radikal Bikers is a cool game and wanted to see what it was like running full speed, here is a little standalone emu I whipped up. It was just a fun side project to learn Direct3D 8 and to see if some static recompilation techniques I've been thinking about would work. It's not super-polished, but it works well enough to play a few games. You need at least 2GHz and a 64MB video card to get full speed.
- 0.80: Various Gaelco3D improvements [Aaron Giles]: Radikal Bikers and Surf Planet are fully playable now. Added 3x DMA-driven DAC sound.
- 0.79u3: Aaron Giles fixed a TMS32031 bug that was causing some problems in Radikal Bikers.
- 24th February 2004: Aaron Giles - Fixed a subtle bug in the TMS32031 core that was causing problems with Radikal Bikers. Now at least all the geometry shows up okay. I'm still at a loss to explain alpha blending, Z buffering, or perspective correction. The incomplete driver should be in u2, so if you know some 3D math, feel free to have a look and see if you can't help me figure it out!
- 0.79u2: Aaron Giles added Radikal Bikers (Gaelco 1998).
- 2nd September 2003: Guru - Radikal Bikers (Gaelco/Atari 1998) arrived from Pelle.
