A sheriff on horseback must protect a train, located in the center of the screen, from groups of bandits. Players must avoid running into obstacles, getting shot, or allowing three bandits to board the train. A bonus game is played between rounds.

- 7th December 2009: Mr. Do - I found the instruction card for Wild Western in the BYOAC / CAG Artwork.
- 0.133u1: Renamed (wwester1) to (wwestern1).
- 0.122u3: Atari Ace fixed save state in Wild Western (wwestern0115u1yel).
- 24th December 2006: Mr. Do - hanks to the loan by Vintage Arcade Superstore and vectorization by Zorg, we have Wild Western bezel.
- 0.103u3: Nicola Salmoria fixed the Wild Western bonus screen, where the horse would not scroll into view.
- 0.36b3: Added 'High Score Table' dipswitch.
- 0.36b2: Zsolt Vasvari hacked protection in Wild Western, fixed bonus game and added second button to jump onto the train. Added 2nd player button.
- 0.36b1: Zsolt Vasvari fixed Wild Western - Game now playable. Added Taito SJ sprite-sprite collision detection and other improvements to in the Taito SJ games. Added clone Wild Western (set 2). Changed input to Double 8-way Joystick with 1 button. Fixed cpu1 rom ($4000) and dipswitches. Added layer prom ww17.
- 22nd July 1999: Zsolt Vasvari added the missing button to Wild Western.
- 15th July 1999: Zsolt Vasvari fixed Wild Western graphics priorities and input ports.
- 12th July 1999: Zsolt Vasvari added sprite-sprite collision check into the old Taito games, and fixed Wild Western crashes.
- 0.31: Known issues: Probably due to copy protection, the game is not playable and resets often.
- 0.29: The hardware of the Taito games (Elevator Action, Jungle King, Wild Western, Front Line) is emulated more faithfully. Playfield priority is accurate in Jungle King, however this broke Wild Western - strange. Front Line works. Merged all the drivers into Taito driver [Nicola Salmoria].
- 0.27: Elevator Action, Jungle King and Wild Western now use the same Taito video hardware driver.
- 0.25: Nicola Salmoria added a preliminary driver for Wild Western (Taito 1982), which is not playable yet.
