Tips on Tutankham

* Flash bombs can only be used once per level, and remember you only have 3 available for the whole game. Use them sparingly, preferably only in a life-threatening situation.

* You can sit in a safe place close to a monster generator and simply pick the monsters off as they appear. Most monsters follow a set pattern of movement so it is quite easy to predict which way they will turn and wait in a place where it is easy to kill them as they appear in front or behind you. Remember to watch the timer though!

* The lanterns and rings are quite often a deadly diversion as they are sometimes placed in dead end vertical passages. Assess the risks carefully before collecting them.

* Be careful when entering vertical tunnels as you cannot shoot monsters on the other side until they are level with you in a horizontal direction.

* A carefully timed shot can kill a monster in a vertical tunnel, but only when fired exactly when the monster moves into the square in which you are stood.

Tutankham and M.A.M.E.

0.33b1 [Marc Vergoossen]
0.25 [Mirko Buffoni, David Dahl]

Bugs:
- tutankhm, tutankst: Background stars missing in attract mode. mcp (ID 02932)

WIP:
- 0.144u7: Kanikani updated Tutankham dipswitches.
- 0.140u2: Atari Ace take some driver_device classes of junofrst/pooyan/rallyx/rocnrope/timeplt/tutankhm (common code in audio\timeplt.c) that cover multiple drivers and split them so that each driver gets their own driver_device class. In most cases, these drivers got entangled because of audio/mcu code that was shared between multiple drivers. Added 'Time Pilot Audio' sound.
- 0.138u1: Changed description of clone 'Tutankham (Stern)' to 'Tutankham (Stern Electronics)'.
- 0.138: Changed M6809 CPU1 clock speed to 1536000 Hz. Added Custom Chip 084 notes (Starfield generation) to the driver.
- 24th September 2010: 3D ARCADE - Updated Tutankham 3D cabinet model.
- 0.135u3: Fabio Priuli added common driver data struct to Tutankham.
- 0.133u1: Renamed (tutankst) to (tutankhms).
- 14th July 2009: Tirino73 dumped Tutankham (bootleg).
- 0.130: Kevin Eshbach fixed rom names for Tutankham.
- 0.129u6: Couriersud added GAME_IMPERFECT_GRAPHICS to Tutankham and clones.
- 0.129: Kevin Eshbach added the DIP locations to Tutankham.
- 0.122u8: Cleaned up Tutankham driver [Aaron Giles]: Correct clocks where possible. Merged memory maps. Fully decoded memory maps. Save state support. Tutankham runs at 60fps, with IRQs every other frame. Proper IRQ ack in Tutankham. Changed VSync to 60Hz.
- 29th December 2007: Guru - Referring to the list of stuff that arrived below, as suspected, much of it was useless. Tutankham... useless, just another bootleg, already in MAME.
- 21st December 2007: Guru - A huge box arrived today. That 19.75kg box looks mighty impressive, although I'm not sure that all of it is going to be useful. Some could be alt. versions but most don't work so I'll need to dump all of these before I can tell exactly what they are. It contains Tutankham (1982, bootleg) and others. Thanks to Tingoes for sending these out.
- 0.114u4: Zsolt Vasvari removed set_vh_global_attribute() and get_vh_global_attribute_changed() from the dozen or so drivers that used it. In the process, made an effort to clean up the video system for these games. The biggest improvements are Route 16, Taisen Quiz HYHOO, Tutankham and Liberator.
- 0.93: Added 6x RC_Filter.
- 0.35b8: Changed description to 'Tutankham' and Z80 CPU2 clock speed to 1789772 Hz.
- 0.33b1: Marc Vergoossen added Tutankham (Konami). Changed 'Tutankham' to clone 'Tutankham (Stern)'. Renamed (tutankhm) to (tutankst).
- 0.31: Jim Hernandez fixed music tempo and pitch in Tutankham.
- 0.27: Sound support in Tutankham.
- 0.25: Finally I've added Tutankham (Stern 1982) [Mirko Buffoni]. Moose provided me a good bunch of information and I lost much time on a stupid bug in bank selection. Thanks to David Dahl that provided me a driver too, and I found the light!! Also thanks to Rob Jarrett for the exaustive memory map (I've included it in sources, it's better than mine) and Pete Custerson for the schematics. Added high score saving to Tutankham. Arrows = Move around, CTRL = Fire left, ALT = Fire Right and SPACE = Flash Bomb. Known issues: Sound support isn't emulated. David Dahl reported a probable missing ROM ("ra1_9a.snd"???), but I disassembled the Z80 code and the area 2000-2fff isn't touched. Maybe different music roms are available since there is a place for a 3rd ROM. Game is playable with accurate colors and no sound.
